Aims And Achievements by Ian Lewis Copestick

Brit Grit, Ian Copestick, Poetry, Punk Noir Magazine

Next month I will be
47 years old, and I think
It’s fair to say that
I’m over half way
Down the path of life.
I can’t see myself
Receiving a telegram
From the Queen,
Or King celebrating
My centenary.
At this time of life
It’s only natural
That you should
Find yourself
Questioning your aims
And your achievements.
What your dreams
Have been, and how
Close you’ve come to
Realising them.
I have had a book
Published which has
Always been a dream
Of mine. Now I just
Wish that somebody
Would buy a copy.
Just to complete
My dreams for me.
