Then and now by B F Jones

Then and now

Shedding hair
Clogging drains
Showing patchy
Scalps
Skulls in the making
Brewing insomnia
Gestating insanity
That swells
With every passing day.

We forgot
What we look like
Our reflection
No longer visible
In the eyes
Of those we
No longer see.

We forgot
Who we are
Our loneliness
Stretching
Into a frail thread
Of disbelief
Anger
And sadness.

We held on.

We hold on.
