5 Shots from Scott Cumming

Punk Noir Magazine

The Skywalks

The memory comes flooding in

Like a cheap bottle of cider

Guzzled down greedily

The woodland behind our neighbourhood

The skywalks, a mass of tangled

Branches, strong enough to hold

Hordes of children

The scorched earth and smashed bottles

Allow for tall tales of

Biker gangs and the supernatural

The first sight of a lady’s nethers

Spied in a discarded magazine

In a long abandoned house

The dangerous ones with

Scrambler bikes

Can’t scare us down from our perches

With the darkness

Comes the added danger

Of a deathly drop

But somehow none of us ever got hurt
